The Catalyst Tools
Catalyst is a suite of proprietary tools developed to facilitate rapid EDRMS deployment. Each tool is a SaaS (Software as a Service) service. The tools are run remotely by RIMtech and operate on your SharePoint tenant. They work with SharePoint online only – not the older on-premises version of SharePoint. Future versions of these tools will be available for clients to run on their own within their own tenants. Some things to know:

Not all the tools are necessary If you purchase an IDP. Some of the tools will be used by RIMtech consulting clients, who are developing EDRMS solutions from scratch, or conducting incremental deployments (one business unit at a time)

Catalyst tools can be used in conjunction with any commercial recordkeeping software for SharePoint. This could include products such as Gimmal Records Manager, Collabware CLM, AvePoint Opus, RecordPoint R365, or Microsoft Purview. Catalyst tools can be used before, during, and after a SharePoint deployment.

IA Deployer
Creates SharePoint IA based on the metadata map MMP data. Creates sites, libraries, columns, content types, lists, views.
IA Analyzer
Crawls existing SharePoint sites to determine all potential conflicts with a proposed IA deployment. Identifies data elements that already exist (e.g. columns, libraries, term sets etc.), in advance of an incremental SharePoint deployment where the SharePoint content type hub has been implemented.
Advanced Search
Custom advanced search for SharePoint online. Advanced search web parts that allow for advanced searching such as cross-library and/or cross-site searching, multi-column input forms search refineries, etc. Based on PNP modern search. Can be customized to customer requirements.
IA Map Generator
Creates the SharePoint Deployment Map (SDM). A view of the entire SharePoint information architecture as deployed. A user-friendly easy to navigate PDF showing all aspects of the SharePoint IA as deployed, including libraries, columns, column characteristics, etc.
Validator
A utility run against a proposed MMP SharePoint IA data file to identify any errors or anomalies requiring correction, such as data integrity errors, datatype inconsistencies, naming and formatting errors or inconsistencies, confirmed or suspected column duplicates, etc.
Library Index
A feature whereby a user can obtain a list of all deployed SharePoint libraries and their key information governance features, including:

This list is generated via a button on the SharePoint landing page, or can be configured as a link in the Quick-Launch List.
IA Auditor
A utility that interrogates existing SharePoint deployments and issues a report detailing any issues, areas of concern, or other anomalies such as documents missing mandatory metadata, documents assigned a manual retention override, etc.
Metrics
Generates a series of useful statistical metrics to assist with IA optimization. Identifies such things as usage rates of columns, common and shared libraries, internal versus display column names, choice lists versus terms that usage, etc. extremely useful in identifying areas where the IA can be optimized for maximum efficiency, performance, and minimal post-deployment long-term maintenance.
